on the Word began when, in February 2001, I started a new preaching
series in my local church.Convinced that many people's grasp of the
Bible—and of the Old Testament in particular—was feeble, I determined to
improve it by starting at Genesis and preaching one sermon from each book of
the Bible.
It doesn't happen every
week, so progress is slow, but as I was always more of a marathon runner
than a sprinter I'm not too fussed about that. I am currently (January 2003)
working on Ezra—working, that is, on the sermons proper; the written versions
lag far behind. The list below is offered in faith!
The articles are not transcriptions of the
original sermons but completely re-written adaptations of them. I trust you
